“Translating” text does not only mean translating it to another language, but also just changing the text displayed. In order to change the text displayed on the job board, please follow these steps:
- Click at the “ID” Link at the bottom of the screen.
This will display the numbers which are assigned to a specific textbox, though some fields like the footer menu or landing page content are managed in their own way like the menu configurations or landing page editor.
Hint: You may want to switch to another tab or browser for the ID selecting in order to be not distracted by the IDs. - Copy the ID number from the text you want to translate or change.
Alternatively, you can also just copy words from the box of the text you want to change, but make sure that the highlighted text exists only once on the job boards. Otherwise it can be hard to find it later in the translator. - Go to the translation interface either by:
- Shortcut Path in the content admin menu (if not changed): Shortcuts -> Translations
- Path: click on “Administration” in the admin path beneath the admin menu -> “configuration” -> “Translate interface” in the bottom of the screen
- Fill in the copied ID or text in the “String contains” search box
- Click on “edit” at the right of the desired text to change. If you get multiple results and can’t recognise the text directly, click on “edit” of the boxes and check the displayed text in your language box or “ID”. Repeat this until you find your desired text to translate
- Change the text in your language field (e.g. ENGLISH or GERMAN) as this is the one displayed and the ID and Jobiqo boxes refer to the original text in the backend.
Hint: HTML language and tokens are applicable. Type e.g. <br> for a new line - Click “Save translations”
- Click on “English” or the language of your job board at the footer, where you selected “ID”, to re-display the ID numbers of the text fields.
Note: Unfortunately, it is not possible to add HTML tags to the "Where?" and "What?" field right above the search fields.
